Union Membership
The Blackie breed is one to which flock masters can take great pride, and the SBBU encourages membership in our association, which endeavors to look after the interest of the breed and breeders, to promote the potential of the breed to shepherds in North America.

The Scottish Blackface Breed has made a great contribution towards the economic development of the hill pastures of Scotland, and elsewhere, and but for it many pastures would produce little of value to humanity.
SBBU was organized in 2008 to provide a central source for information about Scottish Blackface Sheep in North America, as well as promoting Scottish Blackface Sheep as the exceptional base for Grass Fed Market Lamb production.
The Scottish Blackface Breeders Union is more than just a registry: It’s a group of like-minded shepherds that appreciate this unique breed for what they are, and maybe even especially, for what they are not.
